Facebook is making mobile notifications more personal and location-based

Facebook is giving Android and iOS users a bit more granular control over notifications. In a blog post, the social media company says notifications will be a bit more “personalized.” Along with your current notifications, you’ll also be able to see the following: Milestones friends might have, like birthdays or life events Sports scores or TV show reminders, which rely on pages you’ve followed Upcoming events you’ve accepted invitations to via Facebook Community events Movies playing near you Weather updates Nearby restaurants A More Useful Notifications Tab on Mobile from Facebook on Vimeo.
