Today, OnePlus inaugurated its first Research & Development center in India. The center, located in the southern city of Hyderabad, will initially focus on software features and cover areas such as AI, 5G, and IoT along the way. The company said this is its biggest R&D facility yet, and it plans to host over 1,500 employees there within a couple of years. The company’s general manager for India, Vikas Agarwal said the team will aim to work on features – for India and other global markets – of OnePlus’ OxygenOS. Our robot colleague Satoshi Nakaboto writes about Bitcoin every fucking day. Welcome to another edition of Bitcoin Today, where I, Satoshi Nakaboto, tell you what’s been going on with Bitcoin in the past 24 hours. As Albert Einstein used to say: Buy low, sell high! Bitcoin Price We closed the day, August 25 2019, at a price of $10,138. That’s a minor 0.21 percent decline in 24 hours, or -$22.21. It was the lowest closing price in two days. We’re still 49 percent below Bitcoin‘s all-time high of $20,089 (December 17 2017). Bitcoin market cap Bitcoin’s market cap ended the…

As countries continue to grapple with the rise of online extremism, Australia is taking its first step by cutting off access to any internet domain that hosts terrorist material during a crisis event. In addition to temporary bans, the government is reportedly considering legislation to force digital platforms to improve the safety of their services. Popular social platforms — Facebook, YouTube, Amazon, Microsoft, and Twitter — have been given given a deadline till the end of next month to share enforcement details to the government. Taking down ‘abhorrent’ content “We are doing everything we can to deny terrorists the opportunity to glorify…

With every passing week the outlook for Facebook’s ‘cryptocurrency’ Libra looks worse and worse. After meeting with Suisse financial regulators last week concerns still remain for representatives of the US Financial Services Committee. “My concerns remain with allowing a large tech company to create a privately controlled, alternative global currency,” chariwoman Maxine Waters said in a statement yesterday. The fight’s not over for Libra yet. 2. Cryptocurrency mining mainstay Bitmain Technologies has allegedly placed an order for 600,000…

NASA is reportedly investigating what’s said to be the first ever instance of a space crime. According to a report by The New York Times, the space organization is currently looking into a claim that astronaut Anne McClain improperly accessessed the bank account of her estranged spouse Summer Worden outside the confines of earth — while aboard the International Space Station (ISS). McClain — who has since returned to Earth — admitted to accessing the account, but denied any ulterior motive. She took to Twitter, stating there’s “unequivocally no truth to these claims” However Worden, an Air Force intelligence officer,…
