Quotable

"DSK and Schwarzenegger have once again shown that the nature of Man is to reach great heights, and collapse. So too is the nature of massive state economies and bumbling NGOs fat on entitlements, especially when those are led by repeat sex offenders and philanderers." ~ Yasha Harari

Samsung says Galaxy Fold will run ‘hundreds’ of optimized apps at launch

Samsung’s Galaxy Fold was delayed so much we were beginning to think it wouldn’t even come out this year. Luckily that all changed last week. If there’s one benefit to the delay – besides, you know, a phone that won’t immediately break – is that it’s also given Samsung and developers some time to optimize software for the world’s most famous bendy phone. Case in point: Samsung says ‘hundreds’ of apps have been optimized for the Galaxy Fold. Samsung and Google worked closely together to make the Android more flexible for the Galaxy Fold. With Android 10, Google made it easier…

Nintendo files patent for bendy Joy-Con (pray they don’t drift)

Nintendo recently filed a patent for Joy-Con that can bend, meaning the Switch’s troublesome little sticks might finally become a little more flexible — though that’s probably not the improvement Joy-Con drift sufferers were hoping for. The patent, spotted by LetsGoDigital, shows Joy-Con with a hinge just under where your thumb would naturally sit that allows the device to bend backwards. They work both attached to the Switch and detached, according to the patent. Nintendo filed a similar patent in Japan last year. They don’t necessarily look like something Nintendo would sell as standard equipment on Switches — they might make…

Neumann’s NDH20 headphones rock — both in and out of the studio

Sep09

When the NDH20 studio headphones were announced at NAMM this year I was quite surprised. Neumann’s been around for nearly 100 years without making a pair of headphones and, considering the company is owned by Sennheiser, it seems strange to start now. Neumann’s known for two things: making kick ass microphones, and making kick ass microphones. I know that’s the same thing twice — that’s how good the company’s microphones are. But headphones? Let’s just say that, untested, it’s a tough sell at $500 for a product that’s pretty close to being a set of Sennheiser HD 650s in a…

Leak: Google’s Pixel 4 could include an astrophotography mode

Our phones get better at capturing images in low light every year, but as far as I know, no phone has been good enough to capture stars in the night sky. If a new leak is to be believed, Google might be the one to change that Spanish tech site Pro Android posted a what appears to be an upcoming marketing video for the Pixel 4. The video shows off some things we already know of including air gestures using Project Soli, tight Google Assistant commands, and the Pixel‘s famous Night Sight. But then the video goes a step further,…
