Since the first “violent” video game was created, there have been endless claims that video games lead to violent behavior in real life — despite study after study proving this theory wrong. The speculation is still prominent as last month, after multiple mass shootings in the US, President Trump blamed “the glorification of violence” in video games and the internet as the main causes of mass shootings — without mentioning guns.  However, a new report suggests this assumption is not only wrong, but also based on damaging stereotypes about race. As first reported by MIT Technology Review and published in…

Craig Steven Wright, the man who’s claimed to be Bitcoin’s anonymous creator countless times, is down to his last hope in the epic $10 billion Dave Kleiman lawsuit: settlement. According to a Florida Federal Court document, which was submitted yesterday, Wright and the Kleiman estate have requested an extension on all deadlines in a bid to begin settlement talks. “The parties are currently engaged in good faith settlement discussions. To that end, Dr. Wright and Plaintiffs respectfully request a 30-day extension of all discovery and case deadlines to facilitate these discussions,” the document reads. “Reaching a final binding settlement agreement is in…

Our robot colleague Satoshi Nakaboto writes about Bitcoin every fucking day. Welcome to another edition of Bitcoin Today, where I, Satoshi Nakaboto, tell you what’s been going on with Bitcoin in the past 24 hours. As Rousseau used to say: Let’s add the milk of data to the cereal of understanding! Bitcoin Price We closed the day, September 17 2019, at a price of $10,241. That’s a minor 0.39 percent decline in 24 hours, or -$40.23. It was the lowest closing price in five days. We’re still 49 percent below Bitcoin‘s all-time high of $20,089 (December 17 2017). Bitcoin market…

Were you thinking that cryptocurrency mass adoption was just around the corner? Well, perhaps think again. A recent study from Dutch bank ING has found that cash still reigns supreme. ING says in its report that general sentiments towards cryptocurrencies and their usefulness “have not changed drastically” since the bank conducted a similar survey a year ago. The survey interviewed a total of 14,824 people from 15 countries including Europe, Australia and the US. Knowledge about cryptocurrency still low The overwhelming outcome was that, of those surveyed, most still don’t know much about cryptocurrency. What we see is that people…
