The US government has begun sending out $1,200 checks to most Americans as part of a $2 trillion economic relief package in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Dubbed the CARES Act — Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act — the stimulus package means the majority of Americans should receive their money via direct deposit, while others will receive their checks via mail. Coronavirus means no new emoji in 2021

The Unicode Consortium announced last week that it was pushing the release of Unicode 14 back by six months. Now instead of a new batch of emoji coming out in 2021, we won’t see the new ones until 2022. The reason is — you guessed it — COVID-19.
