Sandbox VR lets you kill zombies with friends for your next party

You’ve heard it before: VR is almost certainly the future of gaming, but the technology just isn’t there yet for mass appeal. Headsets are too big and expensive, their resolution is too low. But perhaps most importantly, VR is an isolating experience. You can’t easily sit down and play a VR game with a friend – at least not in the same living room. That’s a problem companies Sandbox VR is trying to solve. The company combines technologies that allow multiple people to share a VR experience in a single physical room. That’s neat enough on its own, but Sandbox takes…

AC Odyssey’s warrior woman could be the series’ first strong female lead

Yesterday, Ubisoft (officially) debuted the latest entry in its flagship Assassin’s Creed franchise: Odyssey, an action RPG set in Greece during the Peloponnesian War. The gameplay revealed on-stage during the E3 show, including the names of our two protagonists. That’s right, the rumors were true: in AC Odyssey, you can play as either a man, Alexios, or a woman, Kassandra. And, speaking as a longtime fan of the series, it’s a pleasure to see a Grecian Amazon like Kassandra grace the E3 gameplay demo. After sticking with this series for ten years, I’m beyond happy to see what might be the series’ strongest, most…

Here’s why EOS will confiscate your tokens if you HODL for too long

If you are one of those people who love to buy cryptocurrency and forget about it for the next several years, then EOS might not be the one for you. It doesn’t want any of your HODLing. Block.one — the company behind the EOS Network — has inscribed in the blockchain platform’s constitution that any EOS members who don’t put their tokens to use for three years could get their accounts terminated. Such accounts will either be put up for auction or the amount held in inactive wallets will be distributed to the rest of the EOS token holders. The…

Fortnite is coming to Nintendo Switch today

At today’s Nintendo Direct, the Big N’s show for E3, the company announced Epic Games’ world-alteringly popular game Fortnite was coming to the Switch. That’s not unexpected. The rumor’s been circulating for a few weeks now, backed up by a leak from a Korean ratings board. But what fans might not have expected was for it to come now, more or less: it’s going to hit the eShop at 10 am PDT, shortly after the conference. So fans who want to take their battle royale on the road, but don’t want to drain the batteries on their iPhone are in luck! As…

Donald Trump showed Kim Jong Un a fake movie trailer for their bromance

Jun12

Posted In: Around the Web, Opinion, world

US president Donald Trump asked North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un to watch a video on an iPad yesterday, during a summit between the two leader’s nations in Singapore. The film, which was also shown to the media, depicts the two leaders as the protagonists in a four minute movie trailer where they’re asked to heroically break the cycles that have repeated throughout history. It’s like the creators of “South Park” filmed a fake trailer for a comedic satire, but it’s real. You can watch the 4:12 trailer below. And, just because the only logical reaction to seeing this is…
