Firebase, the app development platform acquired by Google in 2014, today saw a major update. In addition to several platform-wide enhancements, the company is introducing an in-app messaging services, as well as several major integrations for the popular crash reporting tool, Crashlyics. The CEO of the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) has presented its annual earnings report, and if the content is anything to go by, we can safely say he’s been indoctrinated into the Cult of the Distributed Ledger. The ASX is prepping to shift the bulk of its trading to a decentralized ledger system, built by a former JP Morgan exec. Mining startup dumps unprofitable users, blames it on Bitcoin price drop

Popular cloud based cryptocurrency mining service, Genesis Mining, is calling it time on lower tier Bitcoin mining contracts after claiming they’ve become a pointless endeavor. In a Genesis Mining blog post (spotted by Cryptovibes), the cloud mining firm stated that it will no longer continue to support its lower tier Bitcoin contracts. With the continued drop in the value of cryptocurrencies since January, mining has become a lot less profitable. “Unfortunately, Bitcoin went into a downward trend around January,” Genesis wrote on its blog. “This trend combined with the heavily rising difficulty around April and May reduced mining outputs even…
