Sony’s newest professional SD cards are ridiculously tough (and fast)

Memory cards are one of those things that aren’t particularly interesting. Manufacturers release updated versions on the regular, and most pass by the glare of the tech media without notice. Sony’s latest offering, however, is different, as it’s reportedly “the world’s toughest and fastest SD card.” The SF-G series TOUGH specification UHS-II SD cards are aimed squarely at digital photography pros who shoot in challenging environments. My boss liked the WH-1000MX2 so much he may or may not have stole them from Sony. The Huawei TalkBand B5 is a fabulous fitness tracker. I’ve used a bunch, from devices from little-known brands like Amazfit, to units from more established industry figures like FitBit, and it’s easily my favorite so far. There’s a lot to love about it. The build quality is second-to-none. It’s comfortable. Since I’ve started using it, my skin — which is more sensitive than the floppy-haired lead singer of a band headlining the Warped Tour — is yet to break out into a painful rash. Multiple video game event organizers are being forced to rethink their security measures in the aftermath of the tragedy in Jacksonville, Florida.
