Google should be sent to email jail for murdering Inbox

For the majority of its existence, email has been boring. Companies like Slack have tried to replace it and failed. Google’s app Inbox, on the other hand, made me like emails suck less. But the company has decided to kill this beautiful product and become a murderer of good-looking email. The app came to life four years ago with an aim to redefine your inbox. From the get-go, it provided a plethora of useful and innovative features. Personally, I found email grouping the handiest of all: It made it easy to remove a bunch of emails together with just a single swipe. Similarly, the notification grouping in Android has charmed the users. And most of us yelled at Apple to give us…

A million-dollar EOS gambling dApp suffered a major blow, just days after declaring itself to be the safest of its kind. Hackers have taken 40,000 EOS ($200,000) from the operating wallet of EOSBet by exploiting vulnerabilities in its smart contracts. “[…] A few hours ago, we were attacked, and about 40,000 EOS was taken from our bankroll,” an EOSBet spokesperson informed users. “This bug was not minor as was stated previously, and we are still doing forensics and piecing together what happened.” EOSBet devs have since taken the dApp offline while the devs figure out exactly what happened. A spokesperson…

Rowkin’s tiny earbuds aren’t perfect, but this occasional gymrat still loves them

Sep14

San Francisco-based audio brand Rowkin sent me two pairs of earbuds to try a few weeks ago, claiming that they’re the world’s smallest true wireless earphones. That’s a hard claim to test, but I can say that these are truly tiny, and smaller than any other buds I’ve ever used. But size isn’t everything, so I spent a couple of weeks with both the $100 Bit Charge Touch, which features a case that doubles as a power bank, and the $90 Micro Touch, which comes with a compact Apple AirPods-style case. Despite calls for the EU to unify its regulation of cryptocurrencies and blockchain, France has taken the initiative and introduced its own regulations for initial coin offerings (ICOs). In a tweet yesterday, French Minster of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, announced the approval of a legislative framework which would require ICOs floated in France to provide safeguards and guarantees to investors.
