Indian ride-hailing service Ola is set to enter New Zealand after launching its services in the UK in August and Australia in February, earlier this year. The company is looking towards more countries with large Indian population for its international expansion plan. Ola is banking on its ‘local brand’ image among Indians to capitalize in these markets, as it doesn’t yet have the global brand recall that Uber does. To lure drivers to its platform, Ola is offering a low introductory commission rate of 9 percent, as compared to the market average of 20-25 percent. That should see them earn…

Earlier in 2018 Tanzania’s government, under the leadership of President John Magufuli, introduced a new law for social media and blogs which saw the introduction of license fees for anyone effectively running a website in Tanzania. The upcoming product roster includes home entertainment gear like an amplifier, a receiver, and a subwoofer. That could give Amazon a chance to rival high-end voice-activated audio offerings like Google’s $400 Home Max, Apple’s $350 HomePod, and Samsung’s Galaxy Home. Oh, and Bose recently…

Offline song recognition (also known as Now Playing) is one of the most cherished features of Google Pixel 2 flagship. Some of the powerful AI tech behind it is now part of the similar Sound Search feature present in Google Search and Google Assistant, allowing it to deliver faster and more accurate results on any device that supports these services. While Now Playing works offline, Sound Search requires an internet connection. To use the latter, simply start a voice query on your phone, and a “What’s this song?” prompt will pop up if there’s music playing around you; tap it…
