The Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) continues to warn netizens of the dangers of dealing with cryptocurrency businesses having identified several new blatant scam sites. The regulator announced today that it has added another 21 recognized cryptocurrency scam sites to its ever growing list. The authority now recognizes 99 “cryptomonnaies” (Belgium’s surprizingly mellifluous word for cryptocurrencies) trading websites as being untrustworthy. At this rate, the list will be well over 100 by the new year. Here’s the list of sites to avoid: http://www.afaeu.com http://www.bk-coin.com http://www.capital-traders.com http://www.cryptoallday.com http://www.cryptonetto.com http://www.cryptosafe.tech http://www.dca-finance.com http://www.elos-patrimoine.com http://www.finances-markets.com http://www.iminage.com http://www.investissement-crypto.com http://www.kryptonexlabs.com http://www.kryptowize.com http://www.lacentraledescryptomonnaies.com http://www.london-exchange.net http://www.parel-invest.com…

Undercover report: Crypto media accept cash to mislead readers on ICOs

Oct26
by Sindy Cator on October 26, 2018 at 10:37 am

The dark net, assassination markets, money laundering. Cryptocurrency and blockchain can sound like a dodgy place sometimes, at least we can trust the news outlets that report on them though… right? Wrong. A report from Breaker published yesterday found that nearly half of the cryptocurrency news outlets it surveyed would accept payment to publish articles about ICOs without disclosing them as sponsored content. Posing as “Nikolay Kostarev” a fake Moscow-based PR agent, Breaker contacted 28 blockchain media sites. The fake Russian agent began by asking for basic information about advertising opportunities and their associated costs. Follow up emails then specifically…

The Indian government is reviving its efforts in its war on pornography this week by ordering telecom companies and ISPs to ban 827 adult sites from their networks. This directive follows an order from the Uttarakhand High Court, which found 857 sites to contain adult content – similar to an order issued back in 2015. However, upon inspection, the Ministry of Electronics and IT  (MeitY) found that 30 of them didn’t host any pornographic content, and so the list was cut down accordingly. The ministry informed the Department of Telecom (DoT) to issue an order to telecom companies and ISPs, which said: ……

WhatsApp introduces stickers at last

Oct26

WhatsApp is super late introducing stickers on its messaging platform, but hey, at least they’re available now. There are already a bunch of free sticker packs available, and you’ll recognize some of them from Facebook Messenger (no surprise there). The company noted that third parties can also create sticker packs and make them available as apps in Apple’s App Store and Google Play, and they’ll integrate into WhatsApp. To use stickers, you’ll want to ensure that you have the latest version of the app on your device, and then look for the sticker button within the text entry field in a…
