India has taken its first step in microprocessor development thanks to a research team of Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M). The researchers have built the country’s first native microprocessor, ‘Shakti.’ The chip was manufactured at Semi-Conductor Laboratory of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Chandigarh. Back in July, 300 units of an early version of the chip called ‘RISECREEK’ were manufactured at Intel’s Oregon facility in the US.  The project originally began in 2011, and was subsequently granted a funding of Rs.11 crore ($1.5 million) from the government in 2017. Professor Veezhinathan from Department of Computer Science and Engineering led the team at Reconfigurable Intelligent Systems…

Cyberterrorists have demanded hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Bitcoin from multiple Amsterdam coffeeshops, threatening them with live hand grenades and firearms if they don’t pay up, reports NLTimes. The warnings were sent to at least three coffeeshops and one nightclub, starting in May of this year. Dutch authorities have confirmed the reports and are currently investigating. The email demanded business owners purchase large amounts of Bitcoin from popular cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase or CoinMama, and provided a specific Bitcoin address for payment. “If we do not receive the amount of €100,000 ($111K) within five days, we will make sure…

Now, about that money. Rapper T.I. is being taken to court and sued by his investors after peddling a cryptocurrency that turned out to be nothing more than a get-rich-quick scheme – for him. It was all a trap! Big shit poppin’ indeed. The cryptocurrency token called FLiK was launched over a year ago by T.I. and his businesses partner Ryan Felton. The token originally cost 6¢ a piece, but the pair promised it would be worth over $14 within 15 months, TMZ reports. According to TMZ, there are about 24 plaintiffs claiming that the tokens initially pumped from 6¢…
