Tokyo has taken another step towards cryptocurrency “mass adoption,” and will be giving high-rollers another place to spend their hodlings. The Hinomaru Limousine company claims it will be giving passengers the opportunity to pay for their travel – between the Japanese capital and the city’s two major airports – in digital currencies, Bloomberg reports. Hinomaru Limousine co. is working with Remixpoint to implement the required infrastructure. Remixpoint just so happens to operate BITPoint, a licensed Japanese cryptocurrency exchange. It makes sense – the more cryptocurrency being spent, the more people need to buy from exchanges. A good thing for Remixpoint.…

Major European film group hacked to promote Bitcoin scam on Twitter

Another day on Twitter, another Elon Musk cryptocurrency giveaway scam. The official account of Pathé, the world’s second oldest operating film company and Europe’s second largest studio, has been hacked to spread malicious Bitcoin giveaway links. To dupe users out of their cryptocurrency, the hackers promise to double the investment of anyone who sends a small amount of Bitcoin to their wallet. The hackers also updated Pathé’s account to impersonate Elon Musk, perhaps in an effort to lend more credibility to the fake giveaway. It appears Pathé has since been able to reclaim its account and delete the tweet. It has also…

Today in the UK is Guy Fawkes Day, colloquially known as Bonfire Night, which is marked by Brits setting off a bunch of fireworks. Much of the festivities took place over the weekend, which, coincidentally, was when I got the new Huawei Mate Pro 20, which is rapidly shaping up to be the best phone of the year. I’ve written extensively about the photographic capabilities of Huawei’s phones in the past. I was deeply impressed with the P20 Pro (and, by extension, the Porsche Design Mate RS, which is identical in all but the price tag.) With the company’s latest…

A high school student has been charged by authorities in India for threatening to blow up the Miami airport. The eighteen year old boy was unhappy with the US investigation agency FBI for not helping him recover a sum of Bitcoin he lost to a US-based fraudster. The boy, who has not been named, called the FBI at least 50 times over the last month. Failing to get any satisfactory response, he then called Miami airport authorities threatening to attack the airport by “barging into it with an AK-47 assault rifle, grenades, and a suicide belt,” local daily Hindustan Times…
