You probably receive email marketing that was deployed on a Salesforce system multiple times a week, without even knowing it. Well, the cloud-based customer relationship management firm is now intent on using blockchain to curb the number of spam emails finding their way to inboxes. The US Patent and Trademark office published a document yesterday that outlines Salesforce’s concept of using blockchain to ensure the authenticity of emails sent to customers. Presumably, this system will only work for clients that currently use one of Salesforce’s customer relationship management products. However, this is not clarified in the patent. The system appears…

EU’s investigation into Google AdSense is coming to a close

Margrethe Vestager, EU‘s Competition Commissioner, just confirmed that the EU‘s antitrust investigation into Google AdSense will soon be wrapped up. “We are approaching the end of that investigation,” Vestager told reporters at Web Summit in Lisbon, according to Reuters. The investigation’s findings have been greatly awaited as it could lead to Alphabet — Google’s parent company — receiving another historical fine. The EU slapped the company with a €2.4 billion fine for demoting competing shopping services in searches and a record-breaking €4.34 billion fine for illegal restrictions on the use of Android. The investigation into AdSense, just like the first two cases,…
