When the #metoo movement began, I wrote an article, yelled on social media, and attended my local Women’s March. But that’s it. I assumed that this problem would take care of itself. And then our elected representatives placed a man on the US Supreme Court who, without even taking into account his guilt or innocence, has no place seated on that tribunal. What’s worse, our President openly mocked Christine Blasey Ford, a brave woman who was willing to share her horrid experience on the national stage for the good of us all. We may not be able to prevent some…

Stan Lee, comic book writer extraordinaire, has died

Nov12

Stan Lee, former editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics and the creator of some of the most popular superheros in the world, has died at the age of 95, says TMZ. If you seen a popular movie in the last ten or fifteen years, it probably starred one of his creations. Along with legendary artists such as Jack Kirby, Lee created the likes of…

You know, Bethesda, when you mentioned there would be issues with Fallout 76, I thought it would be one of your fun ones — you know, where locations have items floating in the air, or the NPCs heads rotate on their shoulders like The Exorcist. Something wholesome and harmless, yeah? But thus far, Fallout 76‘s run on the market is plagued with bugs that are honestly getting a little difficult to laugh off. First we had that situation where the whole beta was mysteriously deleted for some users. Now, perhaps with a touch of irony from the universe, some players can’t get…

Xiaomi’s UK launch was a hilarious embarrassment

Nov12

Last week, Xiaomi formally entered the UK market. It’s an exciting development for the British phone-buying public. Not only are Xiaomi’s phones really good, but they’re also inexplicably cheap. There was no way Xiaomi could possibly screw things up. And yet, somehow, they found a way. First, a bit of background. As a launch promo, Xiaomi offered two models of its phones for the implausibly low price of just £1. This, obviously, is a bargain, and thousands of punters were champing at the bit to get their hands on one. However, it was unclear how many phones were available for…
