Review: This simplehuman smart mirror magnifies my face without making me want to puke

I’m not a particularly vain person. Despite my interest in the beauty industry, I find eye shadow a bit terrifying. I’m convinced contouring is black magic, but that’s a story for another time. That being sad, I do love a good mirror, but I never had owned a smart mirror before. Honestly, I had never thought mirrors needed tech, but simplehuman did. I was recently sent a model of the Sensor Mirror Trio, made by simplehuman, the company who claims to “design everyday tools to help people become more efficient at home.” They make functional things like soap pumps and trash bins…

You might be losing potential customers and not even knowing it. How? By using bad copy on Google AdWords. Google AdWords is one of the most trusted and reliable advertising networks on the web. 77.8 percent of US search ad revenue flows through Google, and the search behemoth isn’t slowing down. Google recently made some changes to AdWords that allow for more room to adjust expanded text ads. So of course, using this network effectively is one of the key components to growing your business. We’ve seen the benefits of good AdWords copy, and we’ve seen how bad copy can…

Nintendo is out for blood after the Smash Bros Ultimate leak

Nov26

We’re all eager to get our hands on the new Super Smash Bros. It looks like it’s going to be an amazing trip down memory lane in beat-em-up wrapping, especially as we’re getting so many new characters to play with. But it seems some have gotten their hands on the game a bit too early — and they’re posting the evidence online for everyone to see. Pirates have somehow obtained a copy of Ultimate and are releasing details they’ve found online. It’s not exactly clear how they got it so early, though sources told Motherboard it originated on a game cartridge. So…

China’s mega-collider would be a good idea if it weren’t for The Great Firewall

Nov26

Plans to build a “mega-collider” somewhere in China appear to be moving forward with construction set to begin as early as 2022. Known as the Circular Electron–Positron Collider (CEPC), it would be the world’s largest collider. Too bad it’ll be located behind The Great Firewall. The Chinese government seems to have a serious case of wanting to have its cake and eat it too when it comes to science, censorship, and the nation’s technological future. On the one hand it’s funneling money directly into future-tech like AI and quantum computing in amounts that are quickly propelling it to the global forefront.…

Meze 99 Neo Review: These gorgeous headphones are perfect for the budding audiophile

Nov26

A few years ago, a small Romanian headphone company called Meze Audio took audio communities by storm with a gorgeous pair of $309 headphones, the 99 Classics. Here was a headphone clad in wood and aluminum that didn’t make any claims or revolutionary technology, artist collaborations, or gimmicky features – just great design and sound. The name now seems like foreshadowing, as the Classics are now among the most recommended headphones on audio enthusiast networks. Meze followed them up with the 99 Neo which features a very similar sound but replaces the wood with a stealthier black plastic and brings…
