Sketchy apps with more than 2 billion installs allegedly involved in click fraud

Chinese app developer Cheetah Mobile has been accused of running a major click fraud scam, using its Android apps which have a combined install base of more than 2 billion. BuzzFeed News reported that research from mobile analytics company Kochava found eight apps – seven from Cheetah Mobile and one from Kika Tech – misusing Android user permissions to gain referral earnings from app installs. An American woman has been funding ISIS with Bitcoin

A Pakistani-American woman has confessed to using Bitcoin to launder dirty money to help finance terrorist organization ISIS, CNBC reports. Zoobia Shahnaz, a 27-year-old Long Island, New York resident, made the confession yesterday in front of New York state federal courts. Shahnaz is yet to be sentenced, but faces up to 20 years in prison. Her criminal activities date back to March 2017 when she began scamming Chase Bank, TD Bank, American Express, and Discover to commit credit card and loan fraud to raise funds – that were later used to buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Over the past couple of years, virtually every phone maker has experimented with centered cutouts on the displays of their devices, aka notches, to accommodate front cameras and sensors. Now, it looks like we’ll soon see a different sort of notch on some upcoming handsets, courtesy of Huawei and Samsung. An image from Huawei that The Verge spotted on Chinese social media depicts a bezel-less phone with a camera in the top left corner, surrounded by the screen on all sides.
