We’re happy to announce TNW’s latest venture, Podium! Our staff writers work tirelessly to bring you all the latest and weirdest news in tech on our main site, TNW. The latest cryptocurrency bear market has been blamed for numerous lay-offs and corporate restructures over the last few months. But it’s not all bad news as Ripple has been announced as one of the tech industry’s top employers. The corporate focused blockchain firm has been ranked as the 17th best small to medium enterprise to work at in the Bay area, according to Fortune research partner Good Place to Work. Ninety-one percent of Ripple employees said it is a great place to work, with 97 percent of employees saying they are willing to give extra to get the job done.…

Let us put pictures of genitalia on these speakers, you cowards

Here’s some news: Ultimate Ears (the company behind the greatest portable, bluetooth speakers ever) is launching a service that’ll let you customize your Boom speaker. Called MyBoom Studio, the service lets people select a range of fabric patterns, decide the colors of the volume buttons and other parts, and put text on the spine. “Great…” you might think, but you’d be incorrect. Yeah, 12 types of fabric patterns, and eight colors might be okay for some, but not me. So, cowards at Ultimate Ears, I’ll ask you this once: let us upload our own images to put on the UE Boom 3.…

Goldman Sachs-backed payments startup Circle has acquired equity crowdfunding firm SeedInvest amid rumours it’s looking to raise $250 million in a new round of funding. Circle’s intention to acquire SeedInvest was first made in October last year, but the transaction was pending regulatory approval. In a blog post published today, Circle’s co-founders Sean Neville and Jeremy Allaire (also the founder of online video platform Brightcove) said they had received the green light from Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in the US.
