I’m not going to try to explain Brexit or where it’s headed, because it’ll be outdated before the day is out. It’s a mess no matter what your stance is, and it’s shrouded in uncertainty. What is clear is that everyone needs to prepare for the worst case scenario. The UK government has tried to come up with solutions to make the breakup easier on the country’s startups, but it hasn’t addressed the biggest issue: losing access to the EU single market. Luckily, Estonia offers a way for the UK to maintain its foothold. I visited the e-Residency office in…

Welcome to Thursday’s edition of CHEAP, where I’m doing whorage for some storage. I’m getting psyched for some gigabytes. We’re having some pageantry for capacity. I’m… Actually, that’s all I’ve got. Rhyming is really bloody hard. Today we’re looking at Western Digital’s 6TB Elements desktop hard drive, which is on sale on Amazon for $109.99. That’s a tasty 42 percent discount on the usual list price of $189.99. External hard drives aren’t exactly the most exotic tech product, but they’re undeniably handy, especially when you consider that laptops are coming with ever-shrinking internal storage. Let’s be honest, your MacBook’s 128GB…

AriseBank CEO Jared Rice, who faced 120 years in prison for defrauding investors of $4 million in a cryptocurrency scam, has pleaded guilty. The cryptopreneur plead guilty yesterday morning after standing in front of judges in Texas, local outlet Dallas News reports. Rice conned investors by guaranteeing “no-risk returns” of between 10 and 20 percent on investments made into his startup. He admitted to one count of securities fraud, saying that he did indeed lie to investors. He also promised Visa-branded cards despite having no relationship with the payment services provider. Rice has also claimed that AriseBank’s initial coin offering…

Our technology conference, TNW2019, is only 49 days away. While we call it a conference, we often describe it as a tech festival instead – because it has all the same learning benefits, but with a festival vibe. You’ll enjoy food trucks, live music, and lounge areas to chill out, in between inspiring keynotes and workshops. We find it really important that we create an atmosphere that doesn’t feel stiff – because when you’re enjoying yourself while learning, you absorb the knowledge much better. So if that’s your jam, our Growth Pass lets you go one step further with an extra…

Welcome to Hard Fork Basics, a collection of tips, tricks, guides, and advice to keep you up to date in the cryptocurrency and blockchain world. People have been hailing security token offerings (STO) as the next initial coin offering (ICO), but there is momentum growing for a new type of blockchain-based fundraising. Say hello to the initial exchange offering (IEO). In this Hard Fork Basics article we’ll take a look at what an IEO is, and how it is both similar and different to an ICO. Let’s get to it. Defining the IEO? An IEO is still technically a form…
