CHEAP: Get $20 off Anker’s noise-cancelling neckband earbuds

It was only a few years ago that Anker started making premium audio gear, through its Soundcore sub-brand. Even though it doesn’t exactly have much of a historical pedigree, it’s managed to impress through worthwhile products like the Soundcore Space NC. One interesting product in its line-up is the Soundcore Life NC. These neckband earbuds come equipped with active noise cancellation (ANC) technology, which can absorb external noise that would otherwise interrupt the listening experience. This makes them perfect for listening to music on a flight or catching up on podcasts when crunching weights at the gym. Battery life is…

Sony is automatically changing offensive PlayStation usernames

Apr12

Earlier this week, Sony finally rolled out the name change option for PlayStation Network users. And gamers who are rushing to change the problematic name they once thought was funny might discover that Sony’s taking the liberty of doing it for them. An FAQ on the PlayStation site, spotted by Gamasutra, details exactly how this enforced cleanliness will happen. If you attempt to change your PSN name to something another player has reported as offensive, then you’ll be given a name that’s “TempXXXX” (with the Xs being numbers) and allowed to revert to your previous name at no charge. So far, so fair. But if…

Weather-sealed camera lenses let you shoot in the rain, in the snow, at the beach, in a desert, and all sorts of situations that might otherwise make you think twice about bringing your gear. They’re sealed against the elements, so though it’s not uncommon to find some specs of dust here and there, that’s usually as bad as it gets… which is why I’d really like to know: how did a whole fly got into one? Roger Cicala from the aptly named Lensrentals.com penned a blog post detailing the process of removing said fly from a Canon 70-200mm F2.8 IS II lens.…

Samsung Galaxy Fold: You can now pre-order your pre-order (not a typo)

Apr12

Samsung’s biggest announcement of the year wasn’t the S10, but the Galaxy Fold. Despite the astronomical $1,980 price, early adopters will surely be lining in time for the April 26 release date. Starting Monday April 15, you’ll be able to pre-order the device. But because the device will be available in limited quantities, Samsung is now letting you reserve your spot in the pre-order line. You’re basically pre-ordering your pre-order, but thankfully, you needn’t put money down just yet As a recap, the Fold has two displays. The larger display is hidden when folded, and on the outside there’s a…
