Birds
Mobile app and testing company TestBirds is launching a new free platform today called BirdFlight which allows users to upload and distribute iOS and Android apps to their own testers. The new service adds a free tier to the company’s existing business model of paid-for managed services and testing apps using its own in-house testers. Naturally, BirdFlight expects that developers with more elaborate testing needs or those that want access to TestBird’s crowd of testers might then upgrade to one of the other chargeable tiers. However, for free, users can upload their apps, create teams and invite their own testers to…

Luxury Tourism In Botswana
Evernote today released an update for its iOS app, focused on two key tools that are exclusive to Evernote Premium subscribers: Presentation Mode and business card scanning. Both features were introduced in December last year, but the improvements unveiled today make them significantly more useful. After launching the in-app camera, you can swipe horizontally as before to use Evernote’s business card scanning service. Once a card has been successfully captured, you’ll see an option to integrate your LinkedIn account – if you haven’t done so already – and some new options in the subsequent screen. For the first time, you…

Clock2
When it comes to timer apps on Android, there’s not really any shortage to choose from, but Wonder Timer is a simple, attractive new entrant to the Play Store, so we thought it well worth shining a spotlight on. It’s also free. It’s a little rough around the edges in places, but Wonder Timer shows promise, provided the devs continue to add new features and squash bugs. Getting started Head to the Play Store and download the free Wonder Timer app. That’s actually about it. Unlike seemingly every other app nowadays, there’s no need to create an account or connect…

Photo app Pressgram adds more platforms and editing tools, phases out in-app social network

Mar21

Posted In: Apps, Around the Web, pressgram

Pressgram, the iOS app launched last year that replicates Instagram without being tied to the Facebook-owned platform, has released a major update which removes its in-app social network, among other things. The change will mean that users are unable to follow one and other inside the app from the end of March. Founder John Saddington previously explained that he didn’t believe there was a need for “another social network,” while he also says the feature goes against the app’s “publish first” mantra and is an additional and unnecessary cost to bear. Pressgram is founded on the principle of owning your own content,…
