London 2012 - London Transport
Google’s Campus events and co-working space in London is celebrating its second anniversary since opening its doors back in 2012. To properly mark the occasion, Google commissioned some research about Campus and the Tech City area of London, finding that Campus membership had swelled considerably – up from around 10,000 members at this time last year to more than 30,000 today. The picture painted by the results of the survey is an overwhelmingly positive one. According to the results, 71 percent of founders expect their turnover to increase in the next year and, on average, startups have secured £75,145 of funding in…

pirate
The Pirate Bay is known for causing controversy and disrupting the status quo, so it’s perhaps apt that the file-sharing group kicked off this year’s inevitable deluge of April Fools’ Day stunts with the announcement of “the biggest step in our history.” After years of being driven from domain to domain, and finally into the cloud, TPB is making its final move…. into your mind. In cooperation with russian, israeli and japanese neuro scientists, we are developing a device that will embrace your entire mind. Using laser projections directly onto the retina it’ll no longer be any resolution but 100%. The…

Cash money
Well-known incubator Rocket Internet has launched a new venture in Germany — Zencap, a digital credit marketplace for small and mid-sized enterprises to get financing without having to go through banks. Zencap essentially forms a bridge between entrepreneurs and private investors, allowing SMEs to apply for financing directly from Zencap. Entrepreneurs can apply for a loan in the range of €10,000 – €150,000, with a term of six to 60 months, after which the startup’s creditworthiness will be checked, and Zencap will propose a non-binding offer based on the firm’s risk class and the loan’s term. Only then will the credit project…
