Dropbox announces Carousel, a cross-device photo and video gallery

Dropbox today announced a new photo and video sharing gallery called Carousel that combines photos in your Dropbox account with those on your mobile devices and makes it easy to share them with your contacts. The company says the service “isn’t constrained by the space on your phone,” though it’s not clear how storage will work between your Dropbox account and mobile photo backups. Mailbox launches for Android, and you can sign up for the desktop beta for the Mac

Dropbox has announced that the Android version of its popular email client Mailbox will arrive today. The company also showed off a Mac version of the app, which is currently accepting beta signups. Update: The app is now available in the Google Play Store here. Also new to Mailbox is an auto-swipe function that can learn from individual archive and snooze actions in order to process similar emails in the future.
