Mozilla has announced that it has signed a deal with América Móvil which will see the operator offering Firefox OS devices to its customers, beginning with the Alcatel OneTouch Fire. The company said that from today, the OneTouch Fire is available throughout Mexico via Telcel, a subsidiary of América Móvil. It’s the first market in which América Móvil has offered a Firefox device and the fifth major operator to back the initiative. “We are pleased América Móvil is joining the Firefox OS ecosystem with this initial launch,” Andreas Gal, Chief Technology Officer at Mozilla, said. “This partnership greatly expands the reach of Firefox OS and will…

OneDrive
Microsoft today updated OneDrive for Business with a new design as well as three new features. The former consists of refinements to the user interface while the latter consists of Simple Controls, Site Folders, and smarter search. First up, let’s talk about the service’s new design. One of the first things you’ll notice is that the OneDrive for Business Recycle Bin has been moved to the left-hand navigation area of your Web view. smule
Music app developer Smule today launched Smule Pass, a new cross-app subscription to connect all of its apps under a single premium plan. Previously, Smule users had to purchase individual subscriptions for its apps. With Smule Pass, you’ll now be able to pay once and have access to song libraries, unlimited storage, audio effects and instruments across its four main apps – Magic Piano, Sing! Karaoke, Guitar! and AutoRap. The unified plan should make it easier for Smule to drive cross-app interactions, such as recording a piano track for a song that another user sings in the karaoke app. Smule’s…

Instant API
The API has become a core part of the modern internet, and it seems that more companies than ever now offer third-party developers access to their data and services. While there are plenty of commercial options when it comes to easy management of your APIs, creating those APIs in the first place could be a lot quicker and easier than the months it can currently take. That’s where a new startup called Instant API comes in. The idea behind Instant API is that you can create and publish an API in minutes. Simply hook up your database, determine the endpoints…

The company notes as a point of interest that to get to this impressive user base, it hasn’t employed much in the way of promotion. “In fact our total spend on advertising to date comes out to less than one…
