Google’s India election map lets you watch the votes roll in from the world’s largest democracy

The world’s largest democracy, India, is reporting its election results today and, as ever, Google is making the information easier to parse. The search firm has put all the data together on a map so you can watch the results of 500 million-plus votes as they are announced. The company has teamed up with Nielsen, which supplies the data for its live results portal. Clicking on a district pulls up the latest local voting data, while you can view the current standings from a national level — including all 543 constituencies — too. Adobe put out a blog post at around 10:30 Pacific Time, telling users that database maintenance was the cause of the massive 28-hour technical failure that prevented many of its over 1 million subscribers from logging into their Creative Cloud subscriptions. The blog post, signed by the Adobe Customer Care Team, is less of an explanation than an apology and an assurance that it would not happen again. Digital currency startup Circle today emerged from stealth with the launch of its banking service that it believes will take Bitcoin mainstream. The company made the announcement at the Bitcoin 2014 conference in Amsterdam.
