Fleksy is rolling out a couple of updates to its smart keyboard app on Android and iOS today, with the company saying that the apps now have the “most accurate Fleksy Engine yet”. In real terms, the iOS incarnation has been given six new languages, and the Android incarnation has been given an interesting new feature. It seems that a Fleksy user has recently achieved a Guinness World Record for the fastest texting on a touchscreen smartphone, an accolade previously held by users of Microsoft’s and Swype’s respective keyboards. The official phrase that has to be typed? Glad you asked:…

Social media sharing, scheduling and analytics service Buffer is becoming a lot more than that from today. Have you ever heard the mantra that content is king? Well, it apparently is. With Buffer Feeds, you’ll now be able to reel in various feeds from news sites, blogs and all the rest, and share these directly from within Buffer. So in effect, it’s becoming a Feedly-style RSS reader too. “This has been one of our most requested features from big publishers to small bloggers and individuals who just want to follow their favorite blogs and share their stories alike,” explains Buffer co-founder…

Arriving for US consumers back in 2010, BillGuard sells itself as the world’s first ‘people-powered antivirus system for bills’. If you’re new to BillGuard, let us explain. BillGuard’s predictive algorithms alert you when there’s unexpected charges such as hidden fees, billing errors, scams and fraud on your credit card bills. It also serves up warnings when a similar dubious charge has been flagged by other users, or receives a complaint elsewhere on the Web. As such, the ‘BillGuard brain’ becomes more accurate over time. Last July, BillGuard finally went mobile with its launch for iOS. And today, after an extended beta…

Xperia-M2-786x305
First announced at MWC earlier this year, Sony is finally bringing the 4G mid-range Xperia M2 Android smartphone to the UK. Originally touted for a gradual rollout starting last month, not a lot has been heard from the device since Barcelona back in February, though it seems it has started creeping into some markets. For UK dwellers, the Sony Xperia M2 will be available SIM-free from tomorrow for £239.99 on Amazon, though EE has has just announced it’s making the 4G device on a myriad of plans from today, starting at £19.99 up front on an £18.99/pm deal which includes…

PingTune, an app for sharing songs from YouTube and SoundCloud with friends, is now available for Android devices. First launched in beta at the end of last year for iOS devices, the music sharing app also managed to attract a $1.6 million round of investment in November. Now, it’s launching on Android in a bid to reach a larger, younger user base that tends to buy slightly cheaper [than the iPhone] Android devices. In theory The aim is still the same. In a nutshell, to provide a place for you to keep chat and keep tabs on all the SoundCloud…
