Google self-driving car crop
Google’s co-founder Sergey Brin announced at the Code Coference today that the company has built a number of prototype self-driving cars from scratch. Google’s prototype cars don’t need a human to intervene at all — which means there isn’t a steering wheel, accelerator pedal or brake pedal. Instead, software and sensors replace all of those. The company says that the automobiles will be very “basic” — as it wants to adapt them as quickly as possible to different use-cases, but the bottomline is that they will transport you to your destination at the push of a button. Most importantly, Google says that…

adobe
A new update to Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite of software packages now allows for the installation of older Creative Suite apps that were available before the cloud subscription service was invented. Designers, artists, videographers and others who use apps like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro and Illustrator can now use the cloud service desktop app to install older versions of software that they own. The release notes for the update — that’s version 1.6.0.393 to you — states, “You can now install older versions of Adobe products straight from Creative Cloud Desktop. These are installed side-by-side with existing versions.” This makes perfect sense,…

When we first caught up with Zesty’s founder Lloyd Price in July last year, he said that the plan was always to take the service beyond dentistry, and beyond London where it is currently up-and-running. Clearly, negotiating the agreements with providers to establish a wider service took some time, but today Zesty is cutting the ribbon on its platform for booking GPs, podiatrists, physiotherapists, osteopaths and other types of healthcare provider. Keeping to the same strategy as its…
