We already caught a glimpse of Google’s rumored Android TV platform back in April, but a new report from Gigaom claims that the company will launch the product at its Google I/O developer conference in June. As you’d expect, Android TV is believed to have a focus on streaming online media like Netflix and Hulu and gaming, similar to Amazon’s FireTV set-top box. The major innovation for the new platform is said to be a card-based interface, code-named Pano, that can drop users straight into playing content without having to navigate through an app. It’s not clear how Chromecast will fit…

Google Announces Quarterly Earnings
We’ve known for a while now that Google is testing a new favoriting service called Google Stars, aimed at helping users save, share, and organize Web content. This is largely due to multiple leaks, detailing features as well as showing off the interface in a video and screenshots. Today, Google+ user Florian Kiersch, who has done the majority of the digging behind the service, has leaked the Google Stars extension for Google Chrome. Kiersch spotted the extension on the Chrome Web Store before Google pulled it, and apparently downloaded it to share with the German site Caschys. That blog in…

When smartwatch maker Pebble wanted to track ecommerce activity on its site, it turned to custom analytics platform Keen IO. Now, Pebble has tapped the company to also gather data on customer usage of its devices and apps. Keen IO got started 2 1/2 years ago by a group of developers who were tired of building in-house analytics infrastructure. Their goal was to make a platform so flexible that nobody would have to do it themselves ever again. The service allows customers to collect an unlimited amount of data for any type of event and then makes that available in…

Once I was making oatmeal in the microwave in my dorm and two of my other flatmates came in… I never cooked food in that kitchen again. I’m an introvert and people scare the hell out of me. For the rest of the year I made instant soup using hot water that came out of the tap in my room. It’s hard for me to meet people, but I’ve been working at…
