Porn gaming site Nutaku has a hentai hot sauce — and you’d better believe I tried it

Sometimes it’s hard to describe what a weird day is for me anymore. Shouting encouragement to my first robot vacuum named after a Jetsons character? Routine. Scripting a back-and-forth dialogue between two voices in my head over the merits of a PC gaming store? Yawn. Playing a demon-killing badass in a sequel game I’ve waited over a decade for? All in a day’s work. But taste-testing a hot sauce made by an erotic game-hosting website that’s actually called “Hentai Hot Sauce?” This is off the scale even for me. Still, I’m not one to let a bizarre opportunity like this…

Review: Brilliant’s smart home controllers are the antidote for smart-speaker hell

My home is inundated with smart speakers. I’ve got Echo Dots aplenty, Google Minis to spare, and enough third-party voice-assistant devices to reproduce Plugged’s Bluetooth speaker symphony. And that’s not even getting into all the other “smart” gear I have. I need help. We were promised smart homes by science fiction, and then guaranteed they were just around the corner by tech’s biggest companies. And then we were disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, smart speakers are amazing technology. You can joke all you want, but I can’t stand pulling my phone out of my pocket for any query I can…

Posted In: Around the Web, Insider, Plugged

Trump’s Huawei ban was bad news for China, as it effectively crippled the world’s second-largest smartphone maker from its largest source of income. But China is also very much in a position to retaliate, and Apple – the world’s third-largest smartphone maker – could be among the ones to suffer. Goldman Sachs analysts estimated in a note to investors that Apple could lose 29 percent of its profits if China decided to ban Apple sales in the country to retaliate against the Huawei ban in the US. 17 percent of Apple’s sales come from China, so such a move would undoubtedly…

Google data shows 2-factor authentication blocks 100% of automated bot hacks

May23

Two-factor authentication is annoying. Getting flustered because you have to find your phone and tap on a prompt every time you log into your accounts from a new device is peak first-world problems. But if you ever had any doubt whether it really made you that much safer, Google has the data to dispel that uncertainty. If you’re not familiar with two-factor authentication (2FA) or two-step verification, it’s all about using an extra layer of security to prove the person logging into an account or device is really you. Even if someone steals or guesses your password, they won’t be…
