Social internet radio platform Soundtracker has added new features which promise to make it far easier to discover new music and personalize the service to your own musical taste. Available now, the updated iOS and Android apps allow greater customization of each station- such as allowing for specific artists, tracks or albums to be added or removed – and also promises “auto-discovery” of new music as users “move around through the day”. The newly discovered tracks can then be used as a jump-off point to find out more information about the artist or song, find YouTube videos, start a new Soundtracker…

Kakao Talk, the mobile messaging company that’s undergoing a $3 billion merger in its native Korea, is taking a leaf out of the Skype playbook after it introduced free voice calls to its Windows app. The company added calls to its mobile apps back in 2012. Voice calls are supported in one-on-one conversations, and also in groups with up to five participants. In addition to free calling, Kakao Talk has also rolled out a design with new fonts, which lets users customize their chatrooms with themes, as they can on the mobile apps. The company’s Windows app launched in June 2013, with…

Visual - Eyes - Look
Way back in March last year, we brought you news on Facetune, calling it an intuitive, easy way to touch up portrait photos. The previously $1.99 app (now $2.99) from Israel-based developer Lightricks proved to be something of a hit among the iOS fraternity, quickly rising up the charts to become one of the top paid tools in the App Store. And today, due to popular demand, it’s available on Android too. Given the rise of the selfie in recent times, and with front-facing cameras improving all the time, Facetune will work just as well for those looking to enhance…

Back in April, we brought you news on Gig Sq., a neat new iPhone app that helps Londoners find the best live music in their locale. Today, Gig Sq. is ramping things up a notch with mobile ticketing, as it looks to “change the way Londoners discover and buy tickets to events.” For the rollout, Gig Sq. is tapping Stripe’s mobile payment platform, and gig-goers can purchase tickets with just two taps.     To recap, Gig Sq. lets you search for gigs nearby using an interactive map, or peruse a curated list of gigs – each day the team at…
