Sony Japan has confirmed that the company will no longer be supporting its PlayStation Mobile for Android service. Instead, it’s encouraging any developers building games for the platform to transition across to creating content for the PlayStation Vita and Vita TV. Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales speaks dur

The Wikimedia Foundation today released its first transparency report, giving a crucial first glimpse at the volume of government requests it receives for user data, content alterations and takedowns. Between June 2012 and June 2014, the Foundation received 56 requests for information about its users. Popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has just introduced 4G support in China for one of its budget devices, the Redmi Note phablet. This comes as Xiaomi has much to catch up in terms of 4G as more customers demand support for the speedier network — it only finally solidified 4G plans with the announcement of its new flagship smartphone, the Mi 4. In a Weibo post today, Xiaomi revealed that the Redmi Note with 4G support is lighter than its predecessor by 10 grams, comes with a 5.5-inch screen, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.6GHz processor and…

The evidence that Twitter is planning a move into e-commerce is stacking up, after a handful of users noticed a new (and seemingly dormant) setting for “payment and shipping” inside the company’s Android app. The setting was first highlighted by user @am_Bix, who found the option — which cannot be activated or opened at this point — buried inside the settings menu. @jonrussell twitter payments and shipping? pic.twitter.com/51NcNxhtmI — Peter. (@am_Bix) August 5, 2014 He’s not alone. A search shows at least four other Twitter users who took screenshots of the same menu bar, while TNW’s own editor-in-chief Martin Bryant also has the setting in his Android app….
