Microsoft Lumia 735 arriving in UK on October 2 with Cortana digital assistant in tow

Microsoft has today announced that the Lumia 735 will be available in the UK from October 2, and it’ll be the first handset to arrive running Microsoft’s Cortana digital assistant. Priced from around £20 on contract (we’re still awaiting confirmation of a SIM-free price), the device was first announced three weeks ago, alongside a dual-SIM, non-LTE variant. Key specs include the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system (with Lumia Denim), a 4.7-inch 720p OLED display, a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 8GB of onboard storage (with microSD support) and a 6.7-megapixel camera. Sky’s NOW TV streaming service adds Entertainment and Movies passes for Apple TV users

Broadcaster BSkyB has announced that its NOW TV streaming service now offers the full range of its Entertainment, Sport and Movie content to Apple TV users, having previously been restricted to just a Sports pass. Offering both live and catch-up options, the passes are available to customers for a set fee, and offer an easy way for the company to extend the reach and revenues of its TV offerings to non-Sky TV customers. Currently, an Entertainment pass costs £4.99 per month, but this is set to rise to £6.99 from October 16. A Movie pass costs £8.99 per month (£9.99 from October 16)…

Amazon brings Kindle Unlimited to the UK, an all-you-can-eat book subscription service for £7.99 a month

Two months after Amazon launched its e-book subscription service in the US, the internet giant has quietly introduced the offering to UK readers too. As spotted by Engadget, Kindle Unlimited is now available in Britain, with 650,000 e-books and “thousands” of audiobooks up for grabs each month.
