Microsoft had pencilled in September 23 for the Xbox One’s launch in China, but now it has been delayed by almost a week. As Reuters reports, the Xbox One will arrive in China on September 29, representing the first such launch following a 14-year ban on foreign games consoles. The console will cost 3,699 yuan (around $600) sans Kinect, and 4,299 yuan ($700) with the motion-detecting accessory. ➤ Microsoft Xbox One set to launch in China on September 29 [Reuters] Thumbnail image credit – GLENN CHAPMAN/AFP/Getty Images

After a slow start, Apple customers are beginning to adopt the company’s new iOS 8 platform in larger numbers. The US company updated its App Store Distribution page today to show that nearly half (46 percent) of users who visited the Apple Store on September 21 were using the week-old operating system. Good news for fans of the FIFA franchise – EA has launched FIFA 15 Ultimate Team (UT) for Android, iOS and Windows Phone this week. FIFA 15 UT introduces more than 10,000 players from 500 teams, letting you build your dream team and see how they fair against your rivals. It differs from the main FIFA games, insofar as you ‘unlock’ players for your team. You play games, earn points and then use points to buy ‘packs’ that give you access to more players for your team. Though the game itself is free to download, there are in-app purchases. For example,…
