Even if you are a self-published author, it’s a huge and time-consuming challenge to write, edit, design, and create a cover for your masterwork singlehandedly. Every roadblock you encounter in doing a job you’re not expert in can delay your project. Blurb, the independent book publishing platform, is tackling this problem by launching its own Dream Team of in-house publishing pros, offering its authors a way to connect with a curated group who can help individual authors and businesses with critical publishing tasks. They can be remote or in-person, depending on the need.  “Just because you’re self publishing doesn’t mean you should do it all by yourself,”…

Cameras that clip to your body, cameras you strap to your face, cameras for your own personal flying machines, cameras for just about every occasion. Cameras are everywhere, and it seems you can’t do anything without your actions being captured for posterity. While some may argue that the ubiquity of digital cameras leads to an invasion of privacy, the advance of hi-tech portable snappers is leading to some fun, quirky and useful innovations. Homeboy is one such contraption: a wireless, long-life, motion-detecting home security camera that can be monitored and controlled via your smartphone. It’s a funky little bundle of…

Ofcom, the communications regulator, has announced consultation on a new auction of radio spectrum in the 2.3GHz and 3.4GHz bands. That 2.3GHz spectrum is already used for mobile data in 10 countries outside Europe including India, China and Australia. The 3.4GHz band is already used for 4G broadband in six countries including the UK, Canada and Spain….
