Samsung was lambasted and mocked in the press and on social media yesterday, after the company tweeted a reminder to owners of its smart TVs to periodically run virus scans on their panels – along with a video demonstration of how to go about it. Facebook’s Libra ‘cryptocurrency’ is missing one thing: monetary policy

Facebook has outlined the economics of its new Libra cryptocurrency, revealing it will create a secondary token intended specifically to pay dividends to early backers. It’s called the Libra Investment Token, and it will only be available to members of the Libra Association (which maintains the network) and other accredited investors. Money raised by selling the Libra Investment Token is said to be placed in low-risk assets, and revenue generated is to go towards supporting operating expenses of the Libra Association itself and other development costs, including grants to non-profits. Facebook has finally revealed plans to launch its new digital currency Libra next year. The tech giant said users would be able to use the coin through its apps and on Facebook-owned messaging service WhatsApp. Once it’s launched, users will be able to purchase Libra and store it in its own digital wallet called Calibra.
