Microsoft acquires HockeyApp to bolster its cross-platform development for mobile apps

Microsoft today announced it had acquired HockeyApp, a crash analytics service for mobile apps. The company intends to integrate HockeyApp into Visual Studio Online to improve support for iOS and Android development in addition to Windows Phone. HockeyApp provides a variety of tools for helping developers distribute and test mobile apps, including crash reporting, beta software distribution and feedback, and cross-platform support for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Indiegogo’s first app for Android devices is now available to download
