Flickr won’t print Creative Commons wall art after all, issues refunds to customers

Flickr today has killed a new service that promised to allow you to print wall art of any creative commons image from the service. The move comes only weeks after its initial announcement, after the community was outraged by the company moving to print creative commons images without warning. Flickr VP, Bernando Hernandez, said in a blog post today that it was “sorry we let some of you down” and that it received a lot of feedback from the community that wasn’t “in the spirit” of Creative Commons. Uber suspends service in Portland for three months

When a city sues your service, it’s probably a good idea to try and work it out with said municipality. The Wall Street Journal reports that Uber and Portland, Oregon have stuck a deal that would suspend the car service for three months while the city works on changing regulations around ride-sharing services. After three months, Uber will resume offering rides regardless if the new regulations are in place. Previously, Portland issued a cease and desist order to Uber which led the company to post an online petition meant to convince Portland Mayor Charlie Hales that citizens really wanted Uber operating…

Flowboard, maker of the interactive presentation app, changes its name to FlowVella
