Everyone is waiting to see what Apple will offer with its smartwatch, but that it seems that isn’t the only piece of ‘wearable’ tech the company is working on. The company was today granted a patent for a remote-controlled action camera like the GoPro Hero line. The patent, filed in 2012, makes particular mention of weakness with GoPro devices that it intends to address. Apple’s busy testing iOS 8.2 which adds Watch features right now, but 9to5Mac got its hands on the Apple Watch companion app that will be used to configure the device. The companion app provides a lot of insight into how the Watch will work, revealing options like the ability to mirror iPhone notifications, PIN locks for the Apple Watch and activity progress reports.
