Mozilla has just released version 35 of its open-source desktop browser Firefox, with a host of performance improvements, fixes and an easier-to-use version of its free cross-browser video chat app, Firefox Hello. Firefox Hello works across WebRTC-supported browsers including Google Chrome and Opera. To use it, simply click the Hello button on your toolbar (or right-click the toolbar, click Customize and add the button from there), hit ‘Start a conversation’ and then share the link with a contact to begin video chatting in your browser. BlaBlaCar, the city-to-city ride-sharing service that has made waves across Europe, Russia and Turkey, has arrived in India. As in its 13 other markets, BlaBlaCar lets drivers offer rides from one city to another, and share the cost with co-travelers who sign up for the journey — making the trip more affordable than traveling separately. In advance of his State of the Union address next week, US President Barack Obama announced plans to boost broadband internet speeds while bringing costs down, The Verge reports. On Wednesday, the president will speak at Cedar Falls, Iowa — where where citizens and businesses enjoy 1 Gbps Internet speeds, thanks to a locally run service — to push the Federal Communications Commission to remove restrictions that keep local municipalities from creating their own fast and efficient broadband networks.
