Microsoft has released its first update to the Band fitness tracker, adding an exercise feedback feature to the device. The update also adds a dozen new workouts to the list on the Microsoft Health service, focusing on strength training across skill ranges. To enable the new feature, users will need to first update the Microsoft Health app on their mobile device, then install a new Band firmware update. After introducing lane guidance across Europe last month, Google Maps is now bringing the feature to India. This update will help drivers safely make exits on highways and navigate flyovers without any hassle. Lane guidance will be available for major roads across 20 Indian cities: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagpur, Pune, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam and on major expressways including the Mumbai-Pune expressway. A new non-profit app, Be My Eyes, seeks to help the blind by connecting them with people who can assist with their daily lives over live video. When downloaded the app asks if you are sighted or blind, in order to see if you’re asking for help or offering help. If you sign up as a volunteer, when needed, a blind person can request assistance and the app searches the network for someone who can help. Citing cyberterrorism as a large and growing international threat, the US and the UK have announced plans to embark on a series of cyber attack “war games” to combat online attacks, according to a BBC report. Announced during talks between UK Prime Minister David Cameron and US President Barack Obama, the first planned game will target the financial industry, involving the Bank of England and other commercial banks in London and on Wall Street.
