Imgur is one of the most prominent hosts on the Web for funny images and GIFs, yet it has so far thrived largely as a place for Reddit users to share their images. The site now wants to make its content easier to browse through directly. Starting today, you can sort images through a variety of ‘Topics,’ including Funny, Awesome, Aww, The More You Know, Storytime, Current Events and Design & Art. Imgur says it will update the list of topics as it analyzes more user data. Although Imgur previously featured tags to help users sort through the plethora of images, broader…

Thomas Knoll, co-creator of Photoshop, says the current Creative Cloud Photography Plan, which bundles the app, Lightroom and Lightroom Mobile into a $9.99 per month subscription, is now priced fairly for photographers. Photoshop is celebrating its 25th birthday today. In answering my query during a virtual press conference this morning, Knoll also stated that he had been unhappy with the original $49.99 a month across-the-board Creative Cloud pricing structure because photographers who used Photoshop did not actually work in the way the plan envisioned. Thomas Knoll, Adobe fellow and co-creator of Photoshop Thus, a little over a year after Adobe Creative Suite…

Imagist Labs announced today the launch of Pop – a lo-fi video messaging app for iOS. Pop is offering users the opportunity to have expressive conversations through video with the ease of text messaging. Messages on the app can last up to five seconds and can be replayed indefinitely, allowing users to see and hear old messages with a simple swipe. The interface of the app resembles pop art with bright filters which can be toggled or changed to suit the users’ preference. This was an intentional move by the founder of Pop who wanted to take the vanity out of…

Back in May, Microsoft acquired mobile analytics startup Capptain. The fruits of that purchase are now showing up: Microsoft has revealed a preview for Azure Mobile Engagement, a real-time analytics tool using Capptain’ s technology. Like its predecessor, the new tool provides targeted marketing based on user behavior and demographics. The platform works with push notification services such as Google’s GCM, Apple’s APNS or Microsoft’s own MPNS, but also features in-app messaging abilities. It also features open API’s to allow for easy integration with other platforms, such as importing data from content management systems. You can sign up for the preview now. ➤ Azure…
