At Apple’s March event today, the company announced ResearchKit, a software framework that allows medical researchers to get data directly from iPhone users. The company said that users can sign up to participate in medical research and use their iPhones as diagnostic tools. One example the company gave is a study for Parkinson’s disease that asks the user to perform quick tests on their phone to help diagnose it. Apple is working with other universities and research institutes to build apps that help users measure aspects of their health. One app, for Asthma, is aimed at helping those affected manage when…

Apple Pay isn’t the first attempt at making NFC-based payments with mobile devices commonplace, but it’s certainly the first to gain real traction. At its Spring Forward event today, the company revealed some stats on Apple Pay’s performance. The company says the service is now being used by over 2500 different banks, and is accepted at over 700,000 retail locations. These include a surge of fancy new NFC-enabled vending machines too. These numbers, of course, will be bolstered by the imminent release of the Apple Watch. Apple first announced Apple Pay during its iPhone 6 and Apple Watch event in September; it went live…

While today’s Apple spotlight is on its watch, the company also gave the Apple TV some love with news of an exclusive channel launch and a price drop. Apple announced that the Apple TV would be one of the exclusive streaming devices to support the new HBO NOW streaming service. While Apple has the first rights for new digital devices, Comcast and others can sell the service to their customers. HBO NOW is the network’s first leap from partnering exclusively with pay-TV providers for its content. The service will launch in early next month and will cost $14.99 a month just in…

Of course Google released an Android Wear commercial today

Just hours before Apple’s “Spring Forward” event where the company is expected to unveil details on the Apple Watch, Google went ahead and released its latest commercial for Android Wear. Because of course it would. The short ad featuring the tunes of Shamir’s “On the Regular” continues Android’s “Be Together. Not the Same” campaign which touts the various options users have to experience Android instead of being locked in to, well, whatever device Apple wants you to buy. Check out the not-so-subtly-titled commercial, “Android: Wear whatever you want,” below. Read next: Android’s latest ad has gone full Buzzfeed

Samsung’s Milk Music service is now available to everyone via a browser

Samsung’s Milk Music service is now available in your browser. Previously, the streaming music service was only available on Samsung devices. The biggest difference between the mobile app and browser app is that instead of a radial dial, to select music there’s a linear rainbow that you slide back and forth. The service has over 200 stations for your listening pleasure. For a $3.99 a month service will let you skip as many songs as you want and not be interuppted by ads. The web player is available now. ➤ Samsung Milk Music
