Sony has today confirmed that its streaming games service dubbed PlayStation Now (PS Now) will be available to some users in the UK this spring. Initially, it will only be offered as a private trial to PS4 owners that register interest in taking part in the test. If you register interest but aren’t fortunate enough to be in the first wave, Sony said there will be later phases of the trial that you might well get into still. For beta users, the service will be free and games like Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, The Last of Us and God of War…

Hype 3 Pro
Tumult’s Hype app for OS X, which lets Web designers create HTML5 animations, is getting an update as well as a Professional upgrade with features like responsive layouts, reusable symbols and physics support for objects. Version 3 arrives as a free update for Hype 2 owners and adds more timing functions and Web accessibility support, as well as a redesigned interface to fit in nicely with OS X Yosemite. Hype Professional, which is available as an in-app upgrade for $49.99, makes it easier to build responsive sites and create animations more easily. You can create multiple scene variants to handle…

Lyft_PressKit_01
Remember Google Wallet? It’s the NFC payment solution that Google launched in 2011. It’s morphed a bit over the years into something less NFC-centric and now it’s supported by taxi-hailing service Lyft. Today Lyft announced that passengers could pay for rides using Google’s payment service. To enable Google Wallet as a payment option, just navigate to the “payment” section of the app and add Google Wallet. In related news, Lyft also announced that Google I/O attendees would be provided with discounted rides during the conference on May 28 and 29. Lyft says it will share more details on the discounts in…

Are you in fear of waking up a little blurry on the events of your St Patrick’s Day celebrations tomorrow? Flashgap is an app that can help refresh your memory. In essence, it’s a time-delayed photo sharing app that allows you to create a shared album with friends during any event or night out, but photos taken through the app disappear immediately and are only later revealed to you at midday the following day. The idea for Flashgap was born through inspiration from the movie, ‘The Hangover’, and then created by four students in France. The founders used the credits…

Windows 10 Hello
Passwords are so old-school. Microsoft seems to think so at least, with the annoncement of a new sign-in system for Windows 10 called Windows Hello. Hello lets you sign in by scanning your face, iris or fingerprint instead of an old-school password or PIN system. If your device already has a fingerprint scanner, it will be compatible with Hello. Face and iris recognition are different however –  it’s not just a simple image scanner that could be fooled by a picture of you, according to the company. These will require special infrared hardware and software to recognize you in various lighting…
