In what seems to be an ongoing trend, LG is not looking for its newest flagship smartphone – the G4 – to revolutionize the company’s range of devices. Instead, it’s about refining an already solid formula by improving key areas, like the camera and display. Mere numbers on a page don’t mean much though, it’s how the handset performs that really counts, so we spent a few minutes with the device at the launch in London to find out just how different to the LG G3 the device really is – and whether it can take on Samsung’s 2015 S6 and S6…

Gaming startup OUYA is in dire need of a buyer after failing to restructure its debt, according to Fortune. A confidential – but leaked – email sent by the company’s CEO Julie Uhrman to investors and advisors is the source of the report. TNW has contacted both Uhrman and OUYA’s press representatives for comment. OUYA raised $10 million from Alibaba in February, but Fortune’s Dan Primack reports that it unsuccessfully attempted to restructure after securing venture debt from TriplePoint Capital. The company was launched in 2012 by Yves Behar and Julie Uhrman to create a new games console, relying on open development…

The problem with human resources

humanresources
David Hassell is Founder & CEO of 15Five. This post originally appeared on the 15Five Blog.  The term “human resources” is paradoxical at best. Humans are living beings of arguably the highest order. They have complex emotional, physical, and mental systems that must be understood and nurtured in order to facilitate their self-actualization. Resources on the other hand are valuable company assets that must be maintained, catalogued, and put to use in a way that proves their worth or they are quickly replaced. Our profit-focused paradigm is facing a crisis, because management tends to focus on the resource, not on the human.…

The arrival of Meerkat and Periscope led to a rash of stories in the mainstream press about the impending flood of filth on the new live streaming platforms. But in the world of cam girls (and boys, and all points in between) performing on camera for the internet isn’t novel and these new consumer apps aren’t all that appealing. I asked Shirley Lara, COO at Chaturbate (NSFW), one of the Web’s most popular cam sites, about Meerkat, Periscope and Snapchat, all of which have pretty strict though frequently flouted terms forbidding adult content. It’s safe to say she’s delighted: It’s okay that…

LG has launched its newest flagship smartphone today – the LG G4, which picks right up where last year’s G3 left off. Announced simultaneously at launch events around the world, the device offers a Quad-HD 5.5-inch (1,440 x 2,560 pixels) display and Snapdragon 808 processor. The display, LG says, is 20 percent more accurate at displaying colors than any other smartphone rival, and delivers better brightness and contrast than previous generations or other manufacturer’s handsets. There’s also an f1.8 aperture 16-megapixel camera, which should result in lighter, better quality shots, LG said. The camera also has 3-axis Optical Image Stabilization…
