After adding video calling to its mobile apps late last year, Viber has come to Chrome OS. Viber for Chrome OS makes text, voice and video chats available to Chromebook and Chromebox users. Voice and video calls between Viber users are free, while calls to landline numbers have a fee. In addition to Chrome OS, Viber can be found on OS X, Windows, BlackBerry, Linux, Android and iOS. The app is available for free in the Chrome Web Store, but has stiff competition. Google’s Hangouts app comes packaged with Chrome, and others like Imo have been available on the platform for quite…

I even liked them enough to recommend them as an Ideal Gift in our Christmas series last year. It’s little surprise then that when the company announced its follow-up in-ear buds that I was keen to test them out. Due to go on sale more widely in the US next month, I spent a little time using the Shadow to see if they could live up to the lasting impression left by the Tracks Air.…

Another week, another build of Windows 10. This one introduces some of the features Microsoft showed off its Build conference a few weeks ago, as well as a number of smaller cosmetic features. First up, there’s been some changes to the Start Menu. Most notably, you’ll now need to dive into your Personalization settings to manually switch between the more traditional looking Start menu and the more tablet-friendly full screen option. Microsoft removed this option to avoid confusion – many users incorrectly thought enabling the full-screen start would activate tablet mode. Windows 10 will still change the start screen type…
