Researchers from cybersecurity vendor Check Point have discovered a new kind of mobile malware targeting Android devices. Called “Agent Smith,” the malware has been found to exploit known vulnerabilities in Android to replace legitimate installed apps on the device with malicious versions without requiring users’ intervention. Based on their research, Agent Smith has been found to leverage its broad access privileges to display fraudulent ads. Primarily targeting devices in India, and other Asian countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh, the malware has surrepitiously affected around 25 million unique devices, with each victim suffering “roughly 112 swaps of innocent applications.” The infections…

This seems reasonable, as it is an immensely heat resistant material – something that space missions require. However, it was invented by accident in 1938 by Roy Plunkett at DuPont when he was researching new refrigerants.…

Welcome to CHEAP, our series about things that are good, but most of all, cheap. CHEAP! Using your voice to control things was once the preserve of campy science fiction, but now? The Philips Hue series. AND WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT, THERE’S A JUICY DEAL ON A PHILIPS HUE STARTER KIT RIGHT HERE! Yup, you can get the aforementioned Philips Hue Starter Kit (which consists…
