Business trips are stressful enough without having to keep tabs on all your travel-related expenses. To make that part of your journey a bit easier, Expensify has announced new integrations with a number of popular travel partners. Today, the company launched what it calls a new integration and travel platform with NuTravel, Egencia, Locomote, NexTravel, Uber, Priceline, Hipmunk and Rocket Trip. Upcoming integrations include GetThere, Amadeus, AtlasTravel and Airbnb. Expensify’s “preferred partnership” with NexTravel is designed to specifically extend the benefits of corporate travel to small businesses, the company said. The new platform streamlines business travel by automating expense reporting after customers book their travel with…

Dual-camera photo app Frontback will shut down on August 15

Frontback---General
Frontback, the mobile app that first takes a photo with your rear camera and then with your front camera to ostensibly catch your reaction, is shutting down. The app will cease to exist in its current form on August 15. Frontback CEO Frédéric della Faille wrote about closing up shop in a blog post on the site: While we’ve seen exciting results with some communities, for most of the new members it takes too much time and effort to understand why Frontback is different, resulting in an infrequent use of our product. After discussions with our team and investors, we realized that…

surveys
Forms and surveys are complicated. Sure, they look simple—how hard could it really be to arrange questions and bullet points on a page? Try to choose from the dozens of field options and settings in your form app, though, and your simple contact form just got a lot more complicated. At Zapier, some of our most popular integrations are with form apps—and we’ve spent the past few months researching the best tools to build forms and surveys, and the tips you need to get the most out of them. Here are a few pointers to help your next form be…

Privacy rights do not apply to butt-dials, US judge rules

phone in back pocket
If you’re prone to butt-dialing your friends, you might want to start locking your phone. A federal court in Cincinnati yesterday ruled that if you accidentally call someone – with your gluteal region or otherwise –  you’re not protected by a right to privacy if someone overhears sensitive information. It all started when Carol Spaw, assistant to the CEO of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Interntional Airport, was butt-dialed by James Huff, chairman of the airport’s board. Spaw overheard Huff talking to his wife about firing the CEO (listening for 91 minutes), so she took notes and reported it to other members…

Uber’s getting sued again, this time in Ontario

Uber has run into legal troubles yet again — this time in Toronto. Ontario taxi company owner Dominik Konjevic has filed a $400 million class-action lawsuit ($307.27 million USD) against Uber Canada. In a report by Reuters, Ontario law firm Sutts, Strosberg LLP, who is representing the taxis, said “Uber X and Uber XL have created an enormous marketplace for illegal transportation in Toronto.” The suit is also asking for an injunction to shut down Uber’s operations and expansion in the Ontario area. This isn’t the first battle Uber has seen in the province. The City of Toronto attempted to shut down…
