Celebrated actor, knight, wizard, mutant and all around cool guy Ian McKellan has some mighty strong opinions about how to make scrambled eggs correctly. So, in a video posted to his Facebook page yesterday, he’s here to teach you how to do it right. Ian McKellen’s Scrambled Eggs on Toast“Live from Chateau Marmont in Hollywood,” I scramble up the best eggs in the world for my Facebook followers, to celebrate the success of my new film “Mr. Holmes”. Posted by Ian McKellen on Thursday, July 23, 2015 Gandalf insists on cracking the eggs right into a sauce pan, adding some…

Google is getting ready to shutter some abandoned Google+ Local pages. On July 28, business pages that aren’t being used will be “unverified.” Search Engine Land has discovered a post Google made about its plans, which was posted in the Local Search Forums: In the past few months, you may have seen some changes in the look of Google+ pages that have been associated with Google My Business (GMB) accounts. These changes, including how we treat business pages without owners, are part of Google’s ongoing effort to simplify people’s experience with our tools. We are constantly working to provide only…

Texas and California — even by U.S standards — are states situated virtually worlds apart, both in distance and culture. It may come as a shock that even well-established companies like Websense and Toyota (along with Google’s Americas Operation Center) have made the move to Texas. What could possibly make tech enthusiasts move from the established comforts of Silicon Valley to a state best known for its ranches and rodeos? Although Texas is often caricatured as an endless desert, in truth the massive state boasts geographical and cultural diversity. Its capital, Austin, stands as testament to this. Walk down Sixth Street for…

We’re already halfway through 2015, and in the last few months we’ve seen many trends come and go. What has not gone, however, is the deliberate movement to get back to the basics without unnecessary features. So in honor of getting back to the basics, here’s a rundown of the six increasingly hottest trends we know you’ll keep seeing in months to come: Line Icons and Ghost Buttons With the introduction of Apple’s iOS 7, we have…

Chrysler is recalling 1.4 million vehicles after a Jeep was remotely hacked

On Tuesday, we were terrified by Wired’s report on car hacking, in which a Jeep Grand Cherokee was remotely controlled and then stalled by security hackers miles away. It looks like Fiat Chrysler Automotive (FCA), parent company of Jeep, was terrified too. FCA first issued a “network-level security measure” – effective since yesterday – to prevent remote manipulation via the company’s cellular network.
