Zoom’s scary webcam flaw also affects RingCentral and Zhumu

Last week, video conferencing app Zoom had to make a major change to its service to fix a frightening webcam vulnerability. But new evidence disclosed by security researcher Karan Lyons shows that other conferencing apps like RingCentral and Zhumu are susceptible to the same issue. This means that, if you’ve installed either of the two apps, a malicious website could potentially embed a meeting link that — upon visiting — would automatically open up a video conference that turns your webcam on. In March, Apple offered us a glimpse of the range of TV shows it’s launching with its new service, Apple TV+. You can get a taste of the upcoming content right now, with the trailer for the show, For All Mankind. Created by Ronald Moore (of Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica fame), the series is centered around the historic Apollo 11 moon mission of 1969. However, it’s a fictional show with alternative reality – akin to The Man in the High Castle and The Watchmen. In an interview with Collider, he confirmed that there will be 10 episodes of one hour each.…

Gears of War 5 reworked to remove smoking it apparently never had

In the continued campaign against “cool” depictions of tobacco use, Gears of War will apparently no longer include depictions of smoking — but there’s some confusion as apparently it wasn’t going to have any to begin with. According to a report from Variety, a group called Truth Initiative approached Turner, whose esports Eleague team broadcasts Gears of War. This was apparently the catalyst for removing depictions of smoking in the new game, Gears of War 5.
