Nokia announced today that it has finally settled its long-running patent dispute with Samsung and is expecting a boost of more than $1 billion dollars over the next three years as a result. Nokia entered into a licensing agreement with Samsung in 2013 that allowed both companies to use each other’s patents until the end of 2018. The settlement announced today was part of an independent arbitration on the agreement, lessening the likelihood of any messy lawsuits in the future.
